Mimi Riley teaches this two-session hands on glass fusing class at her Seattle Studio. If you have admired the beauty of artisan glass then this class is for you, as it introduces techniques that you will use to produce your own glass works of art. Discover how easy it is to create amazingly wonderful pieces when you work with a material as gorgeous as glass.  This class gives you the practical experience to complete fused glass artwork on your own.


Choose from many beautiful colors and learn to create small flat projects and one slumped piece. Each attendee receives personal instruction to create and take home 2-3 finished art projects. Topics covered: tool use, glass cutting, shallow texturing, kiln schedules, preparation for firing and fusing characteristics of glass.  All materials included.  Please note there will be a 3rd session for project pickup only, no instruction.


CLASS PROJECT

All necessary materials will be provided for you to choose from several class projects.


PERSONAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Long pants, close toed shoes, if you wear glasses when reading bring them along. 


Private instruction by appointment. Bring water and food, there are no vending machines or eateries nearby.  Class is in an unheated/air-conditioned studio.  Dress appropriately.
